fairy-tales

I have always loved fairy-tales and stories from around the world. Old or new, children stories are the best and many of them provide great truths among small and simple words. Some of them you will recognize imediately but some of them are not that predictable..

Let us begin with the most common ones:

RED          the Snow Queen 1

Red-Riding Hood            The Snow Queen

by Brothers Grimm            by H.C. Andersen

I love the Chronicles of narnia by C.S. Lewis. So this illustration could very well stand as a possible cover for the book: “The Silver Chair”

J.R. Tolkien is also among my favourite writers.

thinuviel      silmarillion

Luthien Tinuviel                     a elbereth gilthoniel

I grew up reading German romantic story-tellers. Their tales rooted deep into my mind:

silfidele     ondine

The Elves                                   Undine

by Ludwig Tieck                    by Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué

I grew up with this particular story beautifully illustrated on a dia-film. Here is my version of it:

Praslea

Praslea the Mighty and the Golden Apples

by Petre Ispirescu

schneewittchen

Snow White

by Brothers Grimm
